The Order of the Arrow is Scouting’s National Honor Society. The Order of the Arrow, or “OA,” is a service organization that emphasizes the ideals of brotherhood, cheerfulness, and service. Members are elected from within their units and recognized as those who best exemplify the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives. Under the guidance of selected capable adults, OA members under 21 provide leadership to the organization.Founded in 1915, the Order of the Arrow has over 171,000 members in lodges affiliated with nearly 300 local BSA councils. Arrowmen are known for maintaining camping traditions and spirit, promoting year-round and long-term resident camping, developing leaders, and providing cheerful service to others. OA service, activities, adventures, and training for youth and adults are models of quality leadership development and programming that enrich, support, and help to extend Scouting to America's youth. http://www.oa-bsa.org/
